In the Ottawa Sun, Bruce Garrioch writes that some league insiders think that Gary Bettman has had a date circled on his calendar for when the NHL lockout will end.

He says that the first nationally televised game on NBC was going to be the day after Thanksgiving and feature the Rangers and Bruins in Boston and, while that game has been cancelled, could be the day that the NHL wants to start the season.

Dating back to June, it had been suggested that the NHL’s plan all along was to miss the first two months of the season.
