Buzz: Players Are Starting To Make European Plans

Andy Strickland tweets “Several #NHL players plotting their European plans w/ lockout looming…how many follow thru remains to be seen. These guys want to play”

Bruce Garrioch tweets “Senators D Erik Karlsson said he is hopeful the Swedish league changes its mind and allows NHL players to sign short-term”

Taylor Hall, among other players, have expressed interest in playing in Europe during a lockout.

Henrik Lundqvist has talked about possibly going back to play for Frolunda if there is a lockout.

Swiss team Davos announced that Rick Nash and Joe Thornton would return to play there if there is a lockout but both players denied the report.

He adds “The three #NHL players a #KHL team signs during the lockout will NOT count towards the cap (via @plysenkov).”

6:53PM: James Mirtle tweets that the Swedish Elite League may reverse it’s stance on not allowing players to join the SEL unless they were going to commit the whole season. Mirtle says that the star power of certain Swedish players could force a change.
