9:51PM: Erik Cole responded to Hamrlik’s quotes at Habs Inside Out and can’t believe that he would make comments like this publicly.
Cole said “For him to come out and say this, it’s the most selfish thing I’ve heard during the lockout. Without a doubt. It’s just disappointing. You’d think the veteran guys are the guys who’d take more pride in what other veteran guys sacrificed in the last lockout, how we all benefited from that as a group. Some guys never played again.
Cole adds that Hamrlik has made comments like this in private to fellow players.
6PM: Roman Fedlicka, via Nick Cotsonika, tweeted out a quote from Capitals defensman and two-time lockout veteran Roman Hamrlik about Don Fehr and the NHLPA.
“I am disgusted. We have to push Fehr to the wall to get the deal. Time is against us. We lost 1/4 season, it is 425M $. Who will give it back to us? Mr. Fehr? There should be voting between player. Four questions – YES or NO – then count it. If half of players say lets play, then they should sign new CBA. If there is no season he should leave and we will find someone new. Time is our enemy.”
Darren Dreger tweeted earlier today, and was repeated by Larry Brooks and Katie Strang, that the moderate players really had to push for this.
What's next for the players. Capitulation is not an option. De-certified is. The NBA did it last year. 7 days after, lock-out was over.—
