According to Larry Brooks, there is talk that Columbus and Winnipeg may swap conferences this season.

This wouldn’t neccesarily be a permanent move as realignment is expected to occur for 2013-14.

The schedule for a 48 game season would only involve conference play which would mean that Rick Nash would return to Columbus this season
