Next season is a much better schedule. NFC east and ABC south plus 4 oak and browns. We need 2 CA and a coverage capable LB on Def. On O we need a premier OG and either winters boy or colon for other G. Add a true number 2 we alongside decker and Harvin. Keep Kersey as slot we and PR.He no and Locker fight for QB. Draft CB, OL,LB and TE. Quick turnaround like Houston. ..but we have a front four that is unique..can handle run and pass alone. If we had a better secondary no doubt they would have more sacks....and more blitzing. metjetnet 5pts Geno peers into the black void:"[It’s] almost exciting to think about all the room for improvement that we have." marcus81 5pts Geno's remark would be great if Jets where 10-2 not 2-10 Brendan 5pts Carolina Panthers @Panthers 1m1 minute agoFurther testing revealed that Cam Newton has two transverse process fractures in his lower back and no further internal injuries. williamg1 5pts Vegas odds on Jets starting QB in 2015:Geno Smith: 5/1Marcus Mariota: 6/1Jameis Winston: 9/1Michal Vick: 12/1Brian Hoyer: 12/1Any Other Quarterback: 1/2http://touch.metro.us/new-york/las-vegas-odds-of-who-will-be-jets-starting-quarterback-in-2015/zsJnli---Kns6JJ5id46/ levi 5pts Almost exciting? haha Ohhhh Geno you little scamp you. williamg1 5pts Panthers playoff push comes to an end. I guess TB's chances of winning against the Panthers, next week, have increased. gottem13x 5pts @a57se They will most likely love where they are. Giving them a chance to get Cooper. SangHoon Daniel Lee 5pts @a57se this mock is pure bull Gurley in the 4th round rofl Pablo Bruno 5pts @a57se You need put put an OLB in there somewhere, the Jets need some youth and speed. gottem13x 5pts @a57se If we are picking 4 there is a slim to none chance that Mariota is there and slim just left for Tampa. Brendan 5pts @a57se Gurley in the 4th? I hope you dropped an entire roll of pennies into the well to make that one happen. Brendan 5pts Point of reference: the same injury (albeit one fracture, not two) kept Tony Romo out for 1 game. That sounds like a little bit more serious than "minor injuries" to me, but whatever. Maybe he actually misses a game now? Go Tampa. jsadolph 5pts @a57se He better be over 6' tall. Brendan 5pts @a57se Their passing grades were 3.9 for Rodgers and 2.6 for Geno. Rodgers had the highest passing grade of the week. Brendan 5pts @a57se So does everyone else. williamg1 5pts He actually read that a cue card gottem13x 5pts @williamg1 that would be sick, He definitely out Sunday? Pete 57 5pts It would be a very exciting offseason if we were to get the #1 pick. It might entice a good GM/ HC to come here, if they like one of the QBs. Brendan 5pts @williamg1 He wasn't even hurt in the crash, though. Pablo Bruno 5pts @Brendan He'll probably miss more than that, why risk further injuring your franchise QB for a very unlikely wildcard spot? But damn, that division is terrible none of them have winning records, TB at 2-11 are in the mix still lol, Jk, those other teams would probably have tie breakers but imagine if they tie with the top two teams at 5-11. williamg1 5pts @Brendan You deserve some credit for this injury. Good job. hazard2012 5pts @a57se @williamg1 ...Idzik is still the GM and has hired someone as stupid as he is to be HC. Brendan 5pts @gottem13x No one knows yet. His injuries were minor, if he even had any, and they were taking him in for tests. hazard2012 5pts @Pete 57 The challenge and potential rewards of reviving this dysfunctional, moribund franchise is probably more of an incentive than the #1 pick...for the right person(s). Big question is: who are the right people and is Woody smart enough to give them the control they will demand. williamg1 5pts I don't know how I feel about the Qbs. In some ways I hope we miss on the top two so we can make the easy selection and take cooper. williamg1 5pts Then you weren't wishing hard enough, Brendan. gottem13x 5pts @a57se @Brendan That is right around where Lattimore went, but we all know what happened there... jsadolph 5pts @a57se @jsadolph Marvin doesn't care if the guy is doomed for a life in prison. As long as he isn't a "Midget". jaygo 5pts @a57se @jsadolph You post other people's research and analysis and try to tell us how smart you are? And, it's based on a anonymous scout. Jeez. Brendan 5pts @a57se I posted two opinion-free facts. williamg1 5pts I think coming to the Jets is a great opportunity. Woody has all the resources in the world, and he seems to have no problem using them on the team. You'd be GMing in the top market on earth. And the last guy screwed up so badly, the bar has been lowered. Bklyn Dude 5pts @williamg1 How funny would it be if the Jets clean house and the new guy passes on QB and WR and takes an OLB. Brendan 5pts @williamg1 I wouldn't wish for something like that. The Panthers can lose all by themselves, they don't need me making deals with the devil. Brendan 5pts @jsadolph Eh, worked with Burfict...kinda. I still can't fault the team for not drafting Burfict after this photo surfaced, though. http://a.espncdn.com/photo/2012/0418/mag_cp_burfict01_576.jpg williamg1 5pts @a57se @hazard2012 @williamg1 Bevell or Trestman. Brendan 5pts @williamg1 "And the last guy screwed up so badly, the bar has been lowered."Hah don't think so. The next guy gets a year grace period, then he either has a playoff season or he gets killed by fans. Brendan 5pts @a57se Link? williamg1 5pts It would be worth it just to see bradysucks reaction of drafting defense in round 1. Then again, I think he was arguing we could have made the playoffs this year if we had Cro and Revis. williamg1 5pts You defend Idzik while saying you won't make deals with the devil? All credibility is gone. williamg1 5pts @Brendan @jsadolph Except he actually ripped its head off seconds later. Brendan 5pts @a57se To give you some perspective: a +3.9 grade every week would give you a +62.4 grade. That would be the 2nd highest QB grade ever for a season. PFF gave Rodgers an appropriately-graded game, so is it your argument that they inflated Geno's grade? williamg1 5pts Nope. If the fans put up billboards demanding patience, woody will bow to us. Bklyn Dude 5pts @williamg1 Well nobody would disagree Cro and Revis would look pretty good out there. Maybe they could drag the Jets with Geno to the playoffs. But then we know what would happen.Whoever is making the choice probably has no choice. It has to be offense in the first round. hazard2012 5pts @williamg1 If Idzik was the devil we'd be sittin' pretty by now...an offensive and defensive juggernaut at the top of the AFC, at least! But Idzik is barely a poor excuse for a petulant imp. Brendan 5pts @williamg1 But Idzik is the devil, therefore not making deals with him means I'm anti-Idzik, and therefore we are on the same side. #Lawyered williamg1 5pts @a57se @williamg1 @hazard2012 Lol. Seriously, I don't think Bevell would even want it if Idzik is here. No one wants to be the HC when the GM could be gone after the season. Brendan 5pts @a57se Green-Beckham first? Okay then. Also, he has Cooper 4th, not 5th. Brendan 5pts @hazard2012 Hey, even imps can rise to power. ALL HAIL THE HALF MAN! williamg1 5pts Damn, B, you're absolutely right! jaygo 5pts @williamg1 @a57se @hazard2012 The circle jerk continues. There are any number of guys with a good resume (not good enough for you of course) who would line up to coach in the NFL under any circumstance. Any one of them or even a name brand might draft other needs in a rebuilding process and let Geno compete with a Ryan Fitzpatrick type next year looking for a bluer blue-chip than the Duck or the Nol down the road. Brendan 5pts @williamg1 Which is why I've been saying if you keep Idzik, you have to keep Rex. One last run for a playoff spot or they're both canned. williamg1 5pts Which explains Johnny football getting the starting job. williamg1 5pts @jaygo @williamg1 @a57se @hazard2012 Mmmkay. Pablo Bruno 5pts @Brendan @williamg1 They both need to be canned right now, Rex and Idzik will do anything possible to win these last three games to save face, they do not care at this point what is the long term interest of the Jets, they know they are goners, If I'm Woody I fire them two, I'll try to be as diplomatic as possible about it, and let a MM to run the team, I'll even lie to him, you lose for us and we'll consider bringing you back..lol hazard2012 5pts @Brendan @williamg1 There's some logic in that approach, Brendan...not that I would embrace it...but it does make sense I think if you look at it from a negative perspective...what HC worth hiring would take a job under the prevailing circumstances...with a potentially lame-duck GM on a short leash who, as I've said before, by chance or design, doomed his last HC to failure? From any other perspective however it makes no sense to keep either, but if the team goes 2-14 or 3-13, and hasn't had a winning season in four years, how can Woody possibly justify keeping Rex Ryan? What can Rex do in one more season that he hasn't already done or failed to do in the last six? And if the argument is that Rex is a good HC who would have done better with better talent and fewer glaring holes then you're writing the epitaph of Idzik...fire him and keep Rex. Not sure how you can justify keeping both unless you say 'no one else is willing to coach or GM here." Brendan 5pts @a57se His knock on Cooper is that he doesn't jump? I haven't seen that in watching tape on him. I'm a huge fan of Parker, fwiw, I think he might be the best in the class. But Cooper plays better competition and puts up the best numbers. Brendan 5pts @williamg1 Haha #NailedIt Brendan 5pts @hazard2012 I was talking about this with TOTJ on twitter, but you're not getting a top-flight HC candidate to take a job with a lame-duck GM. If you keep Idzik, just keep Rex and see if they have some magic left. If not, don't saddle the new HC hire with a GM who is possibly out the door, I just feel like guys will shy away from it. If the options are "Keep Idzik and let him hire a new HC" or "Keep Idzik and keep Rex and clean house in 2016 (for real this time) if they flounder" I'm taking the latter, I think. I don' t even know, we've discussed this so often I've talked myself out of and back into multiple stances. Brendan 5pts @a57se Can you please stop pretending you know that for a fact? williamg1 5pts @Brendan @hazard2012 If Idzik stays, the chances that Geno is our starter goes way up. Just awful. hazard2012 5pts @Brendan @hazard2012 Completely see your point and agree with it...but it is a somewhat negative thinking to solving the problem. A more positive, proactive approach would be to view the body of work by the two men, find it lacking, sack them both and start over again while there's still some talent ...and now the prospects of high draft picks and lots of cap room...to build on. The odds of Rex finally seeing the light of the need for an offense, and for Idzik to become a wizard in FAcy and the draft, seem awfully remote to me. BDarc23 5pts @williamg1 @Brendan @hazard2012 He needs a full off season with Harvin!!! Brendan 5pts @hazard2012 Yeah, it's definitely a "lesser of evils" type of thinking. I've been preparing for Idzik to stay on for weeks so I've been putting myself in "what's best for the team if Idzik stays" lines of thinking and that's where I turned up. I think if you gave Rex a good QB the "light" would go on. williamg1 5pts @Brendan @hazard2012 By "Preparing for Idzik to stay" you mean you were the one snatching the Fire Idzik posters at the game?
