Read: Will Teams Target The Rangers RFAs?

At CBC , Elliotte Friedman wonders if teams are going to continue the trend of signing players to offer sheets like the Flyers did with Shea Weber last summer.

He writes that many teams think that the Rangers could be a target for other teams to poach since they are up against the salary cap, but adds that the Rangers are in a good salary cap position for the future with only four players signed for next season.

Friedman adds that some teams think the idea of going after a Ranger RFA is silly because the Rangers always have the resources to match.

Carp wonders, at Rangers Report, if some team will try and force the Rangers into an even worse cap situation by signing Ryan McDonagh to an offer sheet that would give him a cap hit of over $6 million.

He says that a GM who did that would stretch out the salary structure for defenseman of McDonagh’s level and would tick off the rest of the GMs in the league would now have to pay competitive prices for their players.
