Following the Rangers trade for Rick Nash, Dave Lozo of NHL.com put together some mock lines that the Rangers could use when all of their players are healthy.
He has Carl Hagelin with Brad Richards and Marian Gaborik
Chris Kreider with Derek Stepan and Marian Gaborik
Taylor Pyatt with Brian Boyle and Ryan Callahan
Mike Rupp with Jeff Halpern and Arron Asham.
On those choices he wrote, “Hagelin worked very well with Richards last season, as did Gaborik and Kreider when playing with Stepan. The Rangers will have seven forwards worthy of six spots when everyone is healthy, which means Callahan could be a luxury on the third line.”
Nash has said that he is okay playing on either wing.
Adam Rotter: To start the season I think that Nash will be on Brad Richards RW and with Carl Hagelin as LW. The Rangers could then move Hagelin down to the third line, Nash over the LW and slot Marian Gaborik in if they want to go with the overload top line. The Rangers are going to have some nice players and depth to mix and match with and see what sticks.
