Rangers coach John Tortorella has had a very much written about feud with New York Post writer Larry Brooks this season.
After the Rangers defeat of New Jersey on Thursday night another one almost started. Legendary Rangers reporter Rick Carpiniello of The Journal News asked John Tortorella a question about using three forwards and a defenseman in overtime. Tortorella responded that he wouldn’t and things got a little heated after.

…Carp has been around hockey for a long time and nearly everything that he writes has to be considered. He is a must read for any Rangers fans and I can’t recommend his books about the Rangers enough.
As for Tortorella, this wasn’t nearly as bad as anything that has happened with Brooks, but these media takedowns need to stop. Eventually the media fully turn against you and start calling for you to be fired and then the fans get behind it, and eventually the Rangers have a new coach. Winning could stop that, but not taking on every media member is another. Another would be setting all these arguments in a secret fight club, but that doesn’t seem likely.
