At Backhand Shelf, Justin Bourne writes that the Rangers are one of the tree teams in the Eastern Conference who have exceeded expectations this year.
He points to the fact that the Rangers are first in points percentage and have gotten big years so far from Brad Richards and Marian Gaborik.
Compared to how some people reacted when they started 0-1-2, this team has far exceeded expectations. They are in a groove right now and finding a lot of different ways and players to contribute to wins. Henrik Lundqvist is playing as good as he ever has and the Rangers best players, minus Brandon Dubinsky, are playing their best. How long they play at this high level is yet to be determined, but even if they drop, I don’t feel it will be a big one.
