Read: The Players Being Held Up By The CBA

In the Ottawa Sun, Bruce Garrioch writes that role players are suffering during the CBA negotiations and most teams have put a freeze of bringing in new players.

Garrioch writes “Many looking for work are guys who are third- or fourth- liners or sixth and seventh defencemen that teams can bring in for depth.”

He adds “Right now, teams don’t want to spend unnecessary money because GMs aren’t even sure there is going to be a salary floor in the new CBA. The players available aren’t going to be holding out for big money.”

Players still available are Brian Rolston, Michal Rozsival, Pavel Kubina, Jason Arnott, Kurtis Foster, Andrei Kostitsyn, Cam Barker, Marco Sturm, Chris Campoli, Matt Gilroy and Radek Dvorak.
