Tough break for Eminger, who was playing really, really well as of late. Tortorella: “It hurts.”
Tortorella told Newsday, “He’s a gamer. He brought some physical play to our back end. He never stands out but he gets in the way and he does a lot of good things for us. We’ll miss him.”
Michael Del Zotto told Blueshirts United that he was heartbroken about the injury to Emmy.
It is really a big blow. Eminger was solid on the third pair and was really good with Michael Del Zotto on the second pair. More than anything he was a veteran who has more than a full season playing under John Tortorella and playing the Rangers defensive system. It will be a tough task for the Tim Erixon, Jeff Woywitka, Anton Stralman, Stu Bickel team to replace what Eminger was bringing.
