For the second straight series, the Rangers have won games one and three and lost games two and four to head back to Madison Square Garden to play game five.
Henrik Lundqvist said on MSG yesterday “It’s going to be a battle to the end. We are playing good teams”
Marc Staal told The Sporting News, “We don’t lose our confidence. It’s a playoff series. It’s gonna be tight. We know we just keep working on our game and keep going. We did it last round, and obviously they did too. We’ve been a confident team all year long, and I think we’ll take that confidence into the next game and go from there.”
On the loss, Mike Rupp told Ranger Rants, “You’ve got to let it marinate and let it burn and use it to our advantage on Monday. We don’t feel frustrated. We had our chances and we didn’t score. We made a few mistakes and they wound up in our net. It was not a horrible game but it was not what we needed to do to win the series. We had an opportunity to do something today and we didn’t put ourselves in the best position to do that.”

The Caps flexed the muscles that separate themselves from almost any other team in the East yesterday by getting three goals from their top three guys. They are evenly matched teams that play similar structures and seem destined to play more tight, low scoring, and likely, OT games. It seems like it will come down to which team makes a mistake or has a breakdown in game seven.
