Segal is in his first year in Hartford had nine goals and seven assists and John Tortorella said that Segal deserved a chance to be called up based on his play with the Whale.
He added that he wants to see Segal become part of the Rangers bottom six depth.”we hope he is part of our depth. He played very well when I saw him down there.”
Tortorella said that he hopes to keep Stu Bickel at defense and playing with Michael Del Zotto.
Segal told the Rangers website that he feels comfortable playing with the Rangers because of how Ken Gernander has the players in Hartford play.
