In the Edmonton Journal, Jim Matheson writes about how a 60 game schedule would be broken down if the NHL and NHLPA resolve their labor dispute in the fall.

He writes that it’s likely that teams would play their division opponents five or six times and then play their conference opponents twice on the road and twice at home.

Matheson writes that eastern conference teams likely won’t play western conference teams.

The NBA, which played a 66 game schedule last year, saw 48 conference games and 18 non-conference games.
