Last night the Rangers fell behind 1-0, 2-1 and after scoring the go ahead goal to make it 3-2, gave a goal right back to Toronto before winning in the shootout.
On Hockey Night Live last night, John Tortorella said “We found a way to win. I don’t think we are doing everything great, but we found a way to win.”
Tortorella added, “We were ugly as hell through a number of minutes, but killing the penalties and blocking shots, we found a way to win a road game.”
Before the game on MSG, Tortorella told Sam Rosen, ” We are just trying to play our best hockey at this time of year. There are some parts where we struggle but some we are playing very well in.”
Ron Duguay said on HNL that it was the biggest two points of the season for the Rangers based on their situation in the standings.
Marian Gaborik said the the Rangers are getting to where they want to be, “We were close tonight. We have to build on this and keep going. We need to play our game with our identity and play the way we have been playing all year.”
Ryan Callahan said on MSG, “It’s a good win, it’s a good feeling in here.”
