It was announced yesterday that 2010 second round pick Christian Thomas was named OHL player of the week after scoring six goals and three assists in three games.
Thomas was OHL player of the week back in November.
He scored his 50th goal of the season over the weekend.
More on Thomas HERE.
….There has been some talk since he hit 50 that Thomas should turn pro this summer or that the Rangers should have him on the roster. Being that he will only be 19 and he can’t play in the AHL yet, I think the Rangers may sign him this summer, but send him back to play another year in Oshawa. He may have nothing left to prove in Oshawa, but he will almost certainly get a shot to play for Team Canada at the World Junior Championships and can work on other areas of his game and continue to fill out physically. He will get a chance in training camp to win a spot, but I think he will be back in the OHL next season.
He certainly seems like an exciting part of the Rangers future.
