Read: Brian Boyle Could Be Vulnerable To A Move

Brian Boyle, Rangers, The Right Way

In the NY Post Larry Brooks writes that Brian Boyle could be vulnerable due to the Rangers retaining Brad Richards and Boyle’s cap hit of $1.7 million.

Boyle is in the final year of his contract and will be a UFA come next summer.

Boyle would slot in as the Rangers fourth center behind Derek Stepan, Derick Brassard and Brad Richards.

He would be the fourth line center or, at least to start the year when Ryan Callahan and Carl Hagelin are working towards returning after their shoulder surgery, play on the left wing.

Adam Rotter: I think Boyle, as the fourth line center, could be a really important player for the Rangers as they strive for the four line balance that the Bruins beat them with. It all comes down to dollars and cents though and any UFA they sign to play that role would likely cost the same as Boyle. Unless they feel there is a cheaper in-house solution, or they want to go down the Jeff Halpern type road again, I think they should try and keep Boyle.
