MacArthur filed for arbitration the last three seasons and went through the process last summer.
It’s bad news and the Rangers dodged a big bullet, even if they weren’t going to talk badly about him, by agreeing to a deal with Brandon Dubinsky before the hearing. It’s a leverage move to file for it and the players have every right to do so, but they have to know that the possibility of a falling out between the two sides is there.
The Rangers will sign Ryan Callahan before his hearing this Thursday.
