Henrik Lundqvist let up four goals on 16 shots last night in the Rangers game five loss to the Devils.
In the NY Times, Sam Borden writes that while the loss shouldn’t be blamed on Lundqvist, he hasn’t looked superhuman since his shutout of the Devils in game three.
Of course, Lundqvist was hardly all to blame. The Devils’ second goal came on a lucky bounce and the fourth stemmed from a defensive breakdown in front of him. But for a goalie who has built a reputation for the sublime and superhuman, the past two games have been wholly, and jarringly, ordinary.
Steve Serby wrote in the NY Post that the Rangers skaters were asked to pick up Lundqvist last night, the way he has done so many times for them, but were not able to.
