Update:12:55PM: June 30th:

Bruce Garrioch tweets that Aaron Voros, Patrick Rissmiller and Donald Brashear have cleared waivers.

He calls buying out Brashear “lunacy.”

Original Post:

According to Bob McKenzie on Twitter, the Rangers have placed Aaron Voros, Donald Brashear and Patrick Rissmiller on waivers.

All three are in the last year of their contract and can be bought out.

…Patrick O’Sullivan was also placed on waivers. I like him; he has talent.

Voros and Rissmiller both have salaries of $1 million, while Brashear and his over-35 contract have a cap hit of $ 1.4 million that stays on the Rangers’ cap.

Buying out Rismiller, according to Cap Geek, would cost the Rangers $333,333 on the cap this year and next, while Voros would cost $400,000 this season and $400,000 next season.

McKenzie also says that Calgary probably won’t buy out Ales Kotalik.
