Vince asks: If the Caps win in MSG for a second time and in Game 7, do you think it is a disappointing season? When you look around at who is left in the final four, the Rangers seem like they have a great shot if they can get past the Caps. I feel that the season would be a bust, after finishing first and after so many good teams being bounced like Bos, Van, Chi, Phi, Pitt. It seems almost too good of a situation for the Rangers.
Adam: This is a question that every person will have a different answer for. Back in October I picked the Rangers to finish in sixth place, win one round in the playoffs and go deep into the second round before being eliminated. I felt the same way in March, when the team was in first place and people were starting to increase their expectations. I will be a little disappointed if they don’t win tomorrow, but overall, I can’t complain about this season. They improved and went from a team that could barely make the playoffs to a team that will be contending for the Stanley Cup for years to come. This was a big year for the Rangers as they dealt with a lot, grew as a team, and understood what it was like to be the team that was being chased instead of being the one chasing. I can’t think about this team without thinking of the future.
