At ESPN Insider, Craig Custance thinks that 35 year old defenseman Brett Clark would be a good fit for the Rangers in free agency.
Clark, a lefty shot, had two goals and 13 assists during the regular season and was a minus 26 for Tampa Bay.
He played 18:22 per night and was second in the league last season with 199 blocked shots.
Two seasons ago Clark had nine goals and 22 assists while playing 18:53 a game for Tampa. He has 681 games experience and had a cap hit last season of $1.5 million.
Custance writes, “He still has that booming slap shot and is capable of bouncing back offensively. He’d be a nice fit in New York where the Rangers’ defense could use more depth.”
