Bob McKenzie says that Brunette has signed with Chicago.
The deal is one year worth $2 million.
Bob McKenzie tweets that the Rangers have interest in UFA Andrew Brunette.
He says that Chicago and Nashville are interested as well and Chicago could be in the lead.
Brunette, 37, just finished a three-year contract with Minnesota that had a cap hit of $2.3 million.
He had 18 goals and 28 assists last season. He had 25 goals and 36 assists two years ago.
This would be the veteran leadership that the Rangers lost when they bought out Chris Drury.
Update: 1:14PM: Larry Brooks tweets that it would be a mistake for the Rangers to have interest in Andrew Brunette just because he played on a line with Marian Gaborik in Minnesota.
