Mark Spector of Sportsnet in Canada writes that the Rangers watched Sheldon Souray over the weekend have decided to pass on him.
Spector cites sources claiming that Souray’s speed was an issue and that were not sure how that would translate back to playing against NHL players.
He also writes that the Rangers job was his to lose.
…Well that solves that and puts aside all the talk we had over the weekend about it. 65% of the 700 votes cast were against Sheldon Souray and his booming shot and those people will seem to get their way.
His shot is unquestioned but his foot speed is much more important and the Rangers will now have to look for a trade to help the powerplay unless Michael Del Zotto gets back to form.
