BUZZ: @ChrisKreider Is Likely To Return To Boston College Next Season

In the New York Post, Larry Brooks writes that the Rangers have yet to open up talks with 2009 first round pick Chris Kreider.

Brooks also writes that Kreider is planning to return to Boston College next season.

He had 11 goals and 13 assists for BC this past season and was named the MVP of the Beanpot Tournament. Watch the highlights from the tournament HERE.

Kreider was named the Rangers top prospect by Hockey’s Future and The Hockey News. Kreider was ranked 18th in The Hockey News ‘Future Watch” issue.

He broke his jaw in March but returned to play for BC later in the month.

Kreider said in February that he didn’t want to look ahead and also said that he when he makes the NHL, he wants to make an impact.

John Tortorella said earlier this season that he wanted Kreider to be signed.

I have heard that Kreider is also likely to stay at BC, but that it is not 100% yet. Kreider is someone who hasn’t dominated in college and he probably wants to do that before he comes out. He projects out to have elite, first line skills, but it’s on him to decide when he wants to take the next step. The Rangers don’t need to rush him if he doesn’t think he is ready. Hopefully he gets another chance to play in the World Championships later this month and further his development there.
