Read: Steven Fogarty Stepped Up His Game At USA Camp

2011 third round pick Steven Fogarty was considered to be lucky after surviving the first round of cuts earlier this week at USA Hockey’s World Juniors Evaluation camp.

Following his game against Finland earlier this week, Chris Peters wrote, at the United States of Hockey, that Fogarty stepped up his play “Fogarty is showing that he is adjusting to the pace of this camp and making better decisions with the puck. He can really skate, especially for a guy at his size, and is showing more and more elements that could help him earn a spot in a bottom-six role for Team USA.”

Rangers assistant GM Jeff Gorton saw Fogarty earlier in camp and said at Blueshirts United “I think as he moves forward, he’s a very skilled guy who is also responsible defensively beyond his age. We’re really excited for him most of all to get this experience because he didn’t get that chance last year. To play at this level is exactly what he needs.”

Fogarty will play at Notre Dame this season.
