Read: Ryan McDonagh Cracks HF Top 50

At Hockey’s Future, they have started to count down the top 50 NHL prospects.

Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh was ranked at 50.

HF recently ranked him the Rangers second best prospect.

In the fall, HF ranked the Rangers with the ninth best farm system. They also ranked Chris Kreider as the 23rd best NHL prospect and Derek Stepan and Evgeny Grachev were both ranked in the top 41.

He was ranked 75th in The Hockey News “Future Watch” issue.

McDonagh has been with the Rangers since the beginning of January and I don’t consider him a prospect anymore. He still meets the rookie criteria though, and it’s nice to see him get recognized for it.

He has played 35 games for the Rangers and has eight assists. He is averaging 18:39 of ice time per game.
