Read: Reader Prospect Rankings

Recently, I asked readers to send me their top 10 prospect rankings.

The top six, based on an average of the 35 rankings, were:

  • Chris Kreider
  • Tim Erixon
  • Christian Thomas
  • Dylan McIlrath
  • JT Miller
  • Carl Hagelin

[jbutton color="red" link="http://cl.ly/212k1c2o3h442c3H0G0p" size="xsmall"]CLICK HERE[/jbutton] to download the spreadsheet with all the fan rankings.

Thanks to everyone who sent in rankings. It was very close between Kreider and Erixon. Kreider finished with an average vote of 1.75 while Erixon finished with 1.80. Spots 7-10 were tricky because there wasn’t a set criteria of whom to vote for and people were sending in players that they thought deserved to be there, but others didn’t. It’s a bit of a mish-mosh, but Ryan Bourque, Andrew Yogan and Pavel Valentenko all deserve to be in there at some point.

Probably around mid-season I will look to do this again.

knicks moving the ball...i must be dreaming

SHumpert is clearly a better player then Felton...however Felton is more critical to our success...when he makes his jumpshots and plays well overall we truly seem to win 80% of the time...not so much with Shump

But glad to see that he and JR are finally waking up.....now if we could get Metta going - we would be just fine

I can't believe we still want to trade Shump. Ridiculous that every year we hear about this guy getting traded...We're not going to be a lottery team when all is said and done so trading shump is a silly move imo

I love Shump. But if Shump helps get the Knicks Rondo, I will forget all about Shump.

we looked pretty good tn. 3 key points, 1) Shump is mad and rightfully so (i like it when an athlete shows such honesty)

2) Pablo needs to play more, he had 6 assists in 14 minutes, and he has more assists for threes then Ray who plays double the minutes

3) @ReneNYK1 I wouldn't consider myself a hater, but Woodson is not that good of a coach. Towards the beginning of the game Orlando ran a couple of plays for easy shots; we probably only run 12 a game, half when pablo is in. We hit our open shots today, but all that demonstrated was Woodson's desire to move the ball. He needs to start working in some plays, and run an offense.

Shumpert, while not a star, is a key young piece that the team should be looking to build around, not move in a trade.

I really like Shump but the watch hat and grill have got to go.

@Vee Langer dude,,,,he has played 3 good games out of 20....if a young , good rebounding big man ( ex. Faried ) or a good point guard become available he should be immediately traded

I'd only trade Shump for Rondo and that's only if I know for a fact Rondo is 100% healthy

@starks91 @ReneNYK1 I think Prigs isn't getting more minutes because he can't get to the basket to create openings in the perimeter. There's no dribble-drive with him.

That plus his extremely slow release and constant hesitance to shoot obviously makes it harder to play him big minutes. His euro playmaking skills are gonna give great 20 minutes of ball with a nice number of assists, a couple of steals and maybe 1 or 2 FGA (which is not nearly enough).

On the other hand, Shumo, Timmy Jr, and JR can attack and finish around the basket, which you need in an offense based on 3 pt shooting.

@hawkeye if a young big / rebounding man would be available - he should be immediately traded

Shump has great skill at the two, but I have two other guys that can play the two, the one thing I don't have is a point guard. Shump + might be able to get me Rondo and believe me when you see Rondo play among what we have right now you will forget Shump was even drafted a Knick.

its not even what woody did its what the team did...secondly all you have to do to beat the knicks is put a decent defender on mello and let mello take 100shots..lock everyone else down...put pressure on prig and he wont get assists ....just saying

NYKnickerBocker

Difference has been the passing these last two games. Especially Melo not forcing anything. I hope it continues.

I was pissed with Woody but like you said shots are falling. What I will say is that he has taken a different approach with the defense. ...way less switching, so I am happy with that. What I wanna see is how the team reacts when all the 3s are not falling

@knickleby I hope so but were going to have serious problems with  with talented pg's or teams that will take away our 3's(Chicago,Miami,Pacers). How will we create offense then? We need a penetrating pg that will put pressure on the defense & open up lanes for our shooters. We need to somehow miraculously find that pg thru trade or D leauge. Also when is Jeremy Tyler coming back im tired of seeing Cole Aldirch miss easy passes/putbacks near the rim!(I know he's the end of bench guy but i want competent players at this level) LOL

@BiggieSmalls @akamarb There's no way to trade Amare. Possibly the biggest albatross in history.

You'd probably have to include Shumpert + picks for teams to be attracted.

Until its expiring year, that contract only kills us.

NYKnickerBocker
NYKnickerBocker

Agree, and sure you meant 100%.   Who knows what Rondo will be.  I have to see him back first.  Also, if he is indeed being recruited and Rondo wants to come to NY, just wait it out.  At least you will know what you are getting.

@Marie Angely Rosa yes except the celtics wouldnt do that....he is averaging 8 and 3 .... LETS STOP WITH THIS NONSENSE LIKE HE SHOULD ONLY BE TRADED FOR AN ALL STAR - JESUS

@BiggieSmalls @VerySilentJay Taking back contracts similar to Amare's.

I don't want any more awful contracts on this team. I'll stick with Amare and get some decent return on its expiring year.

Unless Amare somehow manages to gain some value, we'll stick with him.

VerySilentJay
VerySilentJay

@akamarb @VerySilentJay I wonder how many times you've read the proposed trade, because every time the trade has been sugested, Shumpert was the piece to make the numbers match, with Chandler being the main piece to attract Ainge's attention.

That's why everyone keeps saying, if it means getting Rondo, I'd include Shumpert in the trade package.

ShumpCanJump
ShumpCanJump

@akamarb No one is saying he is comparable to rondo at this juncture in their careers, even coming back from injury rondo is the kind of difference maker this team needs. I would do anything to get rondo on this team, even if it meant moving shump but I would prefer a rondo shump back court with THjr off the bench.
