At NYRangers.com, newly acquired center Oscar Lindberg is the focus of the latest “20 Prospects in 20 Days” feature.
The Rangers acquired Lindberg for Ethan Werek on May 8th.
Lindberg says that he hopes to have an expanded role this season playing in Sweden:
“I would say I’m a two-way center who likes to play in the offensive zone, but I have also developed my defensive game,” Lindberg said when asked to describe himself. “Hopefully, I will have a bigger role on the Skelleftea team this year and hope to play on the power play and stuff like that. I would like to be more of an offensive player, but right now I’d call myself a two-way center.”

He is a faceoff machine, which is awesome because the Rangers need someone who can win faceoffs. I like that he considers himself a two-way center and that is important and will help him succeed when he comes over the North America. He should get the chance to play in Sweden and develop on his own and then come over and see what kind of role he can take in the organization.
