The Ranger signed Marek Hrivik last May following a point per game performance in the playoffs for the Whale last season.
Hrivik, 20, went undrafted while playing for Moncton in the QMJHL where he racked up 204 points in 179 games.
Rangers assistant GM Jeff Gorton said at Blueshirts United, “He earned his contract. We like what we see in him, and now want to see what he shows over a full season.”
Ken Gernander thinks that the Rangers may have found a diamond in the rough with Hrivik, “You have to tip your hats to the scouts because Marek has quite a bit of skill and was a big part of our playoff run. He was one of our better playoff performers.”
