2:23PM: At The Hockey News, Ryan Kennedy spoke with Rangers prospect Danny Kristo about a scary incident that occurred when Kristo was at North Dakota.

One night when it was minus-40 in North Dakota he was walking when his shoe got stuck in a snowbank and after failing to dislodge ran to where he was going as he was beginning to lose feeling in his foot.

He was then taken by some teammates to the hospital where doctors originally thought they would have to amputate some of Kristo’s toes. With treatment though, Kristo was able to regain bloodflow to his toes.

On the incident, Kristo told Kennedy, “It makes you put things in perspective. A little bit scary, but I came out fine. I had good teammates and a good coaching staff plus my family to help me through that.”

He missed ten games, during his sophomore year, due to frostbite before returning.
