According to Cap Geek, the Rangers have re-signed Brandon Mashinter to a two-way contract that has an NHL cap hit of $605,000 and an AHL salary of $75,000.
Mashinter, 6-4 and 220, played in 4 games for the Rangers last season with an average ice time of 5:55 and seven hits.
With the Whale last year, Mashinter had 10 goals and nine assists in 35 games.
Mashinter, 24, will still be an RFA when his contract expires next summer.
The Rangers acquired Mashinter, shortly before the season started, for Tommy Grant.
THIS SECTION is all about Mashinter.
Mashinter, for right now, is not scheduled to be on the Rangers active roster and thus his NHL cap hit does not count against the cap.
With Mashinter signed, the Rangers have 48 players on their reserve list. Derek Stepan will make 49 and the team will have one open spot.
