Johnson spent the 11-12 season with Columbus an Aaron Portzline wrote in the Columbus Dispatch that he is a guy with some good offensive instincts but has been known to struggle in his own zone.

He says that Johnson’s ideal role would be as the number seven defenseman on a good team who plays around 20 games in a season. He notes that Johnson is the kind of guy who always has a smile on his face and brings a positive outlook.
