Tonight, the Connecticut Whale and Norfolk Admirals will meet for game 4 of their Eastern Conference Semi-Final series (ECSF series ‘I’) at 7pm at the XL Center in Hartford. The Whale will attempt to tie the series, 2-2, after the Admirals won game 3 on Sunday, 4-3, and took a 2-1 series lead.
—in game 3, the Admirals rode a three-goal second period to victory, as they defeated the Whale, 4-3. Connecticut led early in the game, as the Whale exited the first period with a 2-1 lead, but Norfolk received goals from Alex Killorn, Trevor Smith and Mike Angelidis in period 2 en route to its victory.
—the Whale penalty-killing was 3-for-4 on Sunday, while its power-play was 2-for-5. Casey Wellman scored both power-play goals for the Whale.
—Connecticut’s leading scorers in the post-season are Marek Hrivik (5-2-7), Wellman (3-4-7) and Kelsey Tessier (1-3-4).
—Cam Talbot made 18 saves in the loss, and it will be interesting to see if Coach Ken Gernander sticks with the same line-up for the all-important game 4.
—Dustin Tokarski made 27 saves in game 3, and will search for his third-straight win in game 4.
