The Connecticut Whale and Bridgeport Sound Tigers will meet for game 2 of their Eastern Conference Quarterfinal Series (ECQF Series ‘C’), tonight at 7pm (ET) at the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport. Connecticut took game 1 of the best-of-five series on Thursday, 3-0, and holds the 1-0 lead in the series.
—game 1 saw the Whale strike for three third period goals, leading to the 3-0 win. Kelsey Tessier, Jordan Owens and Ryan Bourque scored the goals, while goaltender Cam Talbot made 42 saves to record his first professional playoff shutout and win.
—the Whale power-play was 0-for-1 during the game, and its penalty-killing was a perfect 5-for-5.
—it is likely that the Whale goes with the same line-up for game 2, despite the addition of 19-year-old forward J.T. Miller, who was re-assigned by the New York Rangers on Friday. Miller was the Rangers 2011 first-round pick at 15th overall.
—in goal, Fornabaio reports that nothing is imminent on Anders Nilsson, so expect Kevin Poulin to start again. Poulin made 33 saves on 36 shots in game 1.
