At NHL.com, Adam Kimelman wonders what kind of impact the broken thumb Ryan Callahan suffered against the Capitals will have on his Olympic chances.
Callahan will be out for 3-4 weeks and has the potential of missing up to 12 games during that time.
Kimelman notes even if Callahan misses the entire 4 weeks, and returns in mid-November he will still have upwards of 15 games to solidify his spot.
He notes that Callahan’s spot on the roster isn’t really in jeopardy and that he is likely to fill the role of third line RW behind Patrick Kane and Bobby Ryan.
