Note: The Olympics Start One Year From Today and Expect NHLers To Be There

The 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia are set to kick off one year from today.

While there has been no confirmation about the NHL sending their players over to play, Bob McKenzie, of TSN, says that it is almost a foregone conclusion that the NHL will shut down for 16 days and send their players to the Olympics.

McKenzie says that the NHL and NHLPA still need to discuss certain topics with the IOC and IIHF, but it seems likely that NHL players will participate.

Pierre LeBrun says that the NHL is only willing to commit to the 2014 games and not willing to agree right now to the games in 2018 in South Korea.
