Note: How The Olympics Play Out

With their wins last night, Team USA took the number one seed for the rest of the Olympics and Sweden took the number two seed.

…Nice, my two favorite teams in the top two.

Russia and Finland pulled in the 3rd and 4th seeds respectively to also earn a bye.

According to Ken Campbell of the Hockey News, here are the rest of the match ups for the Olympics:

Here are the four games in the qualification round Tuesday:
Czech Republic (5) vs. Latvia (9)
Canada (6) vs. Germany (11)
Slovakia (7) vs. Norway (10)
Switzerland (8) vs. Belarus (9)

Then we move on to the quarterfinals Wednesday, which will feature:
1. Winner of Switzerland-Belarus vs. USA
2. Winner of Slovakia-Norway vs. Sweden
3. Winner of Canada-Germany vs. Russia
4. Winner of Czech Republic-Latvia vs. Finland

Then the semifinals, which are slated for Friday:
Winner of Game 1 vs. winner of Game 4
Winner of Game 2 vs. winner of Game 3

…Should be a good finish to what has been a pretty solid tournament so far. The USA should, beat either the Swiss or Belarus to move on. Slovakia should beat Norway and then its Marian Gaborik versus Henrik Lundqvist. Have to give Henke and his Swedish mates the edge there. Canada, again SHOULD, beat Germany and then they have a matchup of what everyone thought the gold medal game would be, Canada Russia. To hard to tell now who wins that, but it will be epic. The Czechs should beat Latvia and then Jaromir Jagr tries to regain his status as a top player, after that Ovechkin hit, against Finland.
