Steve Eminger scored his first goal of the season against the Islanders on Tuesday.
On Thursday, John Tortorella told Ranger Rants that Eminger is someone who gives everything he has when on the ice:
“Emmy’s a trier. Emmy’s going to give you everything he possibly can. He may not look pretty at certain times but he’s certainly going to give you everything. That’s all you can ask out of your athletes.”
Tortorella also said that a big part of Eminger’s game is understanding his role, “He knows his role, too. There’s no hanging your head when you’re playing a few minutes here and there during a game.”
He has had some ups and downs this season but is a nice 6/7th defenseman to have, even if he is playing a little bit above that role because Marc Staal is out.
