According to Pittsburgh TV Station WPXI, there was a game this past season where Mike Rupp crashed into the boards during warmups and caused a fan to spill his $10 beer.
Rupp told the Penguins trainer to go into the locker room to get $10 out of his wallet so that Rupp could tape it to a puck, sign the puck, and then flip the puck and money over the boards so that the guy didn’t have to spend his own money to buy a new beer.
Rupp was one of the most popular players in the Penguins locker room last season.
He is gonna fit in perfectly with this team. He seems to have the right demeanor, at least judging by his twitter, and knows his role and what the coach wants from him. The potential line of Brandon Prust, Brian Boyle and Rupp, the PBR line, is going to be one that we are going to love seeing out on the ice.
I predict that Rupp is a regular guest of Al Trautwig during the intermissions and a regular during the post-game show.
