Read: Michael Del Zotto Is Playing Well

During the pre-game press conference on Monday, John Tortorella said, “I think Michael has done the things, been much more aggressive defensively as far as stick on puck and time and space, I think he is feeling more and more confident with his play selection which is a very important part of the improvement we need out of him. I think he has handled himself very well.”

Michael Del Zotto is a plus seven right now. He was a minus five in 47 games last season and a minus 20 in 80 games the season before.

He averages 20:46 a game, 15:22 at even strength, 4:07 on the PP and 1:16 shorthanded.

I am very happy with the way that MDZ has been playing. He isn’t blowing people away with his game, and he still tries a couple too many home run passes, but his overall game and decision making has been better. To me, this is what you want to see. You want to see improvements from him and making the smart, obvious, plays that he didn’t always make in the past. He looked a bit more comfortable on the PP the other night and if he can get that going, he will get back into the Rangers core of players that they don’t want to part with.

Why is dalambert on the team if he isn't in on the last possession when you need a stop? Maybe put in your defensive players up 1 with 4 secs to go? So far fisher sucks. He is all talk.

If JR was so hot why did Fisher sit him down?  This is something Fisher does too often with whomever is finding their groove.

Coaches sometimes say "he was going so well I wanted to take him out while his confidence was up"….but that's for rookies and a bad argument all around.

If somebody on the Knicks is "hot" I say let em play!

This is a truly lousy team.   The only issue for me is a trade in the works for Bargnani.

Not getting a rebound or not passing to an open man and taking the last shot while defended or letting a player walk to the rim is not on the coach...it's on the players to stay kicked in and to borrow from Chris Webber they need to "run through the tape"...

Fisher has always talked the talk but has never been able to walk the walk !!!

Avery johnson was a greater speaker too. If phil manages to put a team together I bet phil ends up coaching it. Fisher might just be a sacrificial lamb.
