In his first start of the season, Martin Biron stopped 30 of 32 shots to carry the Rangers to a 3-2 win over Tampa Bay.
Ken Daneyko said on Hockey Night Live last night that having Biron in net may have a subconscious impact on the Rangers as they know they will have to work harder with a likely rusty goalie.
John Tortorella said, at MSG.com, “Marty played well. He made some big saves and it’s good to see. He hasn’t played much here. The thing with him that is so good is that he settles the team down. There isn’t a lot of wasted motion, he is very calm in the net. He moves the puck well for us, he played a really good game.”
On the game, Biron said on HNL, “It’s a great feeling to come out with the win.”
