Read: How The Rangers Goalie Situation Will Shake Out

At ESPN NY, Katie Strang writes about how the Rangers plan to map out their goaltending for the 48 game season.

Last season, Martin Biron started 20 games and Henrik Lundqvist started 62.

John Tortorella told Strang that everyone liked the philosophy they used last season which allowed for Henrik Lundqvist to spend more time practicing and resting rather than playing night after night.

Lundqvist agreed that last year’s model was solid, “I really like the way it was handled last year. The planning they did worked well for us and I felt really fresh.”

In a talk with the Rangers website, Lundqvist said “I think we are going to do something similar. I would play three or four games and then Marty played. I think it worked out great. It kept him in the game, it kept me fresh and allowed me to push myself more in practice. I felt pretty good the whole year and going into the playoffs. We haven’t talked about the number of games but I guess we do something similar to last year.”
