Marian Gaborik was in New York today to meet with Rangers doctors for a checkup on his surgically repaired right shoulder.
According to the team’s twitter, Gaborik said “I feel good..in this case I am confident I am going to get well & I am happy with the progress”
Gaborik played the last two months of the season with a torn labrum in his shoulder and had surgery on June 6th.
His recovery time from the surgery is 5-6 months. Glen Sather said that he thinks Gaborik will be out until November.
Gaborik likely suffered the injury in game four against Ottawa but it was not revealed to be this serious until he had his end of season physical.
He added, at Blueshirts United, that he is riding the bike as part of his rehab and “Now I am starting to work more with my body in terms of weights—wearing a weight vest, doing some squats with my body weight. I am trying to do a lot of core stuff. It’s going forward, so I’m going to be able to do more and more stuff.”
