According to reports out of Slovakia and Columbus, former Ranger Marian Gaborik is in Philadelphia today to get checked out for an abdominal issue that may prevent him from representing Slovakia at the World Championships.
Aaron Portzline says that Gaborik’s issue is not related to the shoulder surgery he had last summer or a groin issue.
Gaborik played in all 47 games this season. He played 35 with the Rangers and Columbus only had 12 left after he was traded.
He had three goals and five assists in the 12 games he played for the Blue Jackets.
