Read: Darroll Powe Only Cares About One Thing

Darroll PoweOn Sunday night against Tampa Bay, Darroll Powe made two plays that led directly to Rangers goals.

On Ryan Callahan’s breakaway goal, Tampa Bay tried to run a break out play near the blue line where Matt Carle made a short pass to Marty St. Louis who then passed it back to Carle and started going up the wing to get a return pass.

When the first pass was being made, Powe went towards St. Louis and as St. Louis passed it back to Carl, Powe went to him quickly and forced an early and errant pass that was intercepted by Ryan Callahan who then went in and scored.

On Arron Asham’s goal in the third period, Powe made a strong play along the wall, hitting Tom Pyatt, and forced a turnover where the puck came to Ryan McDonagh who them flipped it over Keith Aulie’s head where Arron Asham picked it up and snapped it past Anders Lindback to score.

Powe didn’t receive credit on the score sheet for his plays but told the Daily News, that the end result of the play is far more important.

Powe said, “I don’t care if I get a point or not. The team gets a goal and a big win, and for me that’s what it’s all about.”
