Read: John Tortorella Hopes Brian Boyle Was Miserable Last Night

Brian Boyle was a healthy scratch for the Rangers last night and was out of the Rangers lineup for the first time in two seasons.

In his  pre game meeting with the media, John Tortorella said last night, that he was hoping the experience for Boyle wouldn’t be enjoyable, “I want him to be miserable and hope that he never puts me in this type of situation again. I know he loves to play and he will get an opportunity to play. I hope I never have to be in this situation again.”

Tortorella added, I don’t think he has done a good job killing penalties, I don’t think he has done a good job blocking shots, but I know he is a better player.”

He went on to say that while there were other players who deserved to be benched, including one with five goals, Boyle and other bottom six players present an easier option, “there are couple of top guys. They have five goals, Brian has squat. The other guys will be held accountable and our team needs to understand that our start isn’t good enough. Third and fourth line guys are easy targets, some other guys that I’m really upset with but they are also making plays.”

Carp, at Rangers Report, writes of Boyle “He won’t get back into the lineup next game, and I’m not sure who comes out for him to get back in. Maybe it takes an injury, or for somebody else to slump. I think when he gets in you will see a better Boyle.”

Boyle was downtrodden yesterday and only blaming himself for being taken out of the lineup.

Inviting people to a party on Instagram is what dumb teenagers do. C'mon, man.

Also, our old friend Justin Turmer is turning into a redder version of Nick Mangold.

It's a good thing Greinke's wife is giving birth. For a while there I was afraid we'd be the first team ever to get perfect game'd twice in a row.

So, Trump goes to the Mexican border today.  Laredo, Texas. Says "We need to build a wall".

Introduces the city manager of Laredo, Mr. Jesus Olivares.  Says "I love this guy, he's doing a wonderful job, I'm gonna take him to Washington to run something for me."  Olivares takes the podium.  Talks about how well Laredo conducts trade with Mexico.

Reporter asks Olivares "Are you in favor of building a wall?"  He says "No, we don't need that here.  Not in favor of building a wall."  Never mentions anything about illegal immigrants crossing the border in and around Laredo, or about crime by immigrants in and around Laredo.

Trump takes podium back.  Reporters ask him about what Olivares said.  He says "well, there's a huge problem with the illegals coming across the border.  Huge here, really huge elsewhere.  Big problem.  We have to stop that.  We'll need a wall in some sections and not in other sections, but you have to stop the illegals from coming across."

Reporter asks "How would you stop it, then?"  He replies "Well, you have to get it so that the people who are coming across are legal."  Reporter follows up "How, though?"  Trump responds "You have to let the border patrol do their jobs.  They want to do their jobs, but we're not letting them do their jobs, and if they do their jobs we'll fix it but they have to do their jobs."

Donald Trump is truly an amazing man.

@tsjc68  While legions of idiots nod along and think he's making great points. America is fun.

As soon as Donald Trump builds his wall, Lindsay Graham will get Congressional authorization to blow it up.

Take that you rich a$$hole.

@tsjc68 Please excuse my correcting your last sentence. It should read: "Donald Trump is truly a schmuck."

So, I'm about worn out with the offseason. Football really does need to hurry up and get here.

I'm enjoying the Browns being the Browns. Shame Rex isn't coaching them.

I also like how the Browns thought they should smack-talk with a win over the 4-12 Cardinals... when they were 5-11 themselves.

@williamg1 They really are a spectacular display of failure at all times. If you could short an NFL team like a stock, I'd accuse the Browns of rigging the game because it's almost impossible to be this consistently inept in all aspects of your franchise.

@tsjc68 That's one more run than the Mets will probably score today. Go yanks!

@tsjc68 @Joe B. Joe left Tanaka-San in for one inning too long, but the Yanks have me thinking world series.

@fatrex @tsjc68 @Joe B.

Now that the A's sold Kazmir, I assume Zobrist to the Yankees is already being hashed out between Cash and Beane.

tsjc68

@fatrex @tsjc68 @Joe B.

I'd love to see what Refsnyder is, but the chances of the Yankees actually going into the postseason with Refsnyder bolstered only by Stephen Drew and Jose Pirela seems remote.

That's why Zobrist makes so much sense; he can play 2B if Refsnyder hits the rookie wall or regresses, and he can play somewhere else if Refsnyder keeps tearing the cover off the ball.

(Like, for example, platooning him with Beltran in RF.  Beltran hits lefties better, Zobrist hits righties better.)

Perfect playoff weapon.

@tsjc68 @fatrex @Joe B.  It depends on cost, I'm not giving up a top 10 prospect for him, but I think a team like the Mets would and I'm fine with letting him go if that's the case. I'd imagine refsyder would be where negotiations start with Billy Beane. You also have to realize, Ref isn't a normal rookie, this guy was an MVP of a national championship college team, he's been under the lights and experienced the pressure, I'd really be okay with rolling the dice on him as opposed to giving him up. Now if we can do a Kinsler + Price blockbuster that Axisa was talking about earlier today I'd be open to anything.
