News: Ottawa Acquires Bobby Ryan

The Ottawa Senators have acquired Bobby Ryan from the Anaheim Ducks in a trade for Jakob Silfverberg, Stefan Noesen and a first round pick in 2014.

Bobby Ryan has a long history of being rumored to the Rangers.

The Senators lost Daniel Alfredsson to the Detroit Red Wings earlier today.

Note: Bobby Ryan Wants To Stay In Anaheim

Around the time of the NHL Draft, Bobby Ryan said that he was ready to move on from the Ducks after hearing his name mentioned in many different trade scenarios.

Ryan said “I gotta be honest with you. At this point, I don’t care. Move me … because it’s just tough going to the rink every day knowing that if something goes wrong, you’re going to be the guy moved.”

Today, Ryan spoke with the OC Register’s Eric Stephens about those comments and said that he regretted making them right after and that he has not asked to be traded by the Ducks.

Ryan added that he didn’t hear from the Ducks after those comments were made and he was just frustrated by repeatedly being asked about the topic.

Anaheim reportedly wanted Derek Stepan in exchange for Ryan. That was a deal that 62% of readers said they would not make.

Buzz: Bobby Ryan Could Still Be Dealt

At USA Today, Kevin Allen writes that it’s possible that the Ducks could trade Bobby Ryan, but only if they are overwhelmed with an offer.

He writes that the Flyers could look to add Ryan to counter the Rangers move for Rick Nash.

The Buffalo News writes that the Sabres have been after Ryan “for months.”

Buzz: A Bobby Ryan/David Krejci Deal Makes Sense

At CSNNE, Joe Haggerty writes about the rumors that Bobby Ryan deal could be made with the Bruins if the team is willing  to deal David Krejci and a first round pick.

Haggerty writes that most trade talks with the Bruins have centered around teams wanting Milan Lucic and/or Dougie Hamilton, two guys the Bruins don’t want to move.

He writes, “If and when the Ducks ready to accept Krejci and a draft pick in return for one of the best right wings in the NHL then you’ll see the Bruins move swiftly to secure his services and then slide Tyler Seguin into his rightful spot at center.”

Haggerty does caution that a deal doesn’t seem imminent for Ryan and the Bruins.

Buzz: Ottawa Wants In On Bobby Ryan

According to Bruce Garrioch in the Ottawa Sun, the Senators are interested in trying to acquire Bobby Ryan from the Anaheim Ducks.

Garrioch writes that Anaheim is looking for a second line center and a young defenseman to replace Justin Schultz who wouldn’t sign with the team.

Other teams interested in Ryan are believed to be the Flyers, Leafs, Penguins, Red Wings and Lightning.

Garrioch notes that top prospects Mika Zibanejad and Robin Lehrner would be offered up in a potential deal for Rick Nash.

It is believed the Rangers will not trade Derek Stepan to acquire Ryan or Nash.
