Id you discount Ryan McDonagh and Mats Zuccarello, Kris Newbury played the most games of any call up with 11. Dale Weise was at 10, Evgeny Grachev at eight, Chad Kolarik at four and Jeremy Williams and Brodie Dupont at one each. Impact goes beyond points, combined they had two assists, and guys like Newbury and Weise had the jam that John Tortorella liked.

When the Rangers were done with injuries in that January to February stretch, these guys came in and helped out a lot.

Steve Zipay and Chris Botta tweet that Kris Newbury was called up as a precaution and won’t play tonight.

There are a few guys who are banged up so calling up Newbury makes sense, but it’s for the best that everyone in the lineup is at least well enough to play.

Matt Gilroy is scratched.

Pierre LeBrun says that the Rangers have placed Kris Newbury on waivers.

Ruslan Fedotenko is returning to the Rangers lineup tonight

..I am not sure why he is on waivers, but I bet that someone will have an answer
