Henrik LundqvistDuring practice in Sochi yesterday, Erik Karlsson ran into Henrik Lundqvist.

Lundqvist was reporteded to be okay and Karlsson said that he apologized to him 500.

When asked about what happened, Lundqvist said today that it was an accident and that while he was in pain after being run into, he feels better today and is glad that it isn’t worse. (Expressen)

He said that he was so focused on the puck and wasn’t expecting to be run into. Lundqvist added that he is just happy that no one got seriously hurt.  (Expressen)

Lundqvist sent that out on Instagram earlier today with the caption, “On my way to team dinner earlier. Not going to lie, I’m pretty sick on the bike.. #NoHands”

Lundqvist says that he walks to the rink or takes the bus which allows him to think and get into the right mindset before the game.

Lundqvist has joined his teammates who bike around Sochi and Erik Karlsson joked that Lundqvist needed training wheels.

The next Team USA game will be on Wednesday at 12PM on NBCSN. They will take on the winner of Czech Republic and Slovakia who play at 12PM on Tuesday.

The next Sweden game will be on Wednesday at 3AM and they will play the winner of Slovenia and Austria who play at 3AM on Tuesday.

The next Canada game will be at 12PM on Wednesday and they will play the winner of Switzerland and Latvia who play at 12PM on Tuesday.

The next Norway game is at 7:30AM on Tuesday against Russia. The winner will play Finland at 7:30AM on Wednesday.

At Sweden practice today defenseman Erik Karlsson barreled into Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist.

This happened near the end of the Sweden practice and Lundqvist, after being crouched on the ice for a few minutes, went to the boards and watched the rest of practice. (USA Today)

Lundqvist didn’t speak with reporters but the Sweden coach said that Lundqvist is fine. (USA Today)

Daniel Alfredsson said that the players can laugh about it now because it isn’t serious but everyone was scared when it happened. He added that Lundqvist took it like a man and that Karlsson was the one who was much more worried. (Expressen)

Stats: Mats Zuccarello and Norway lose 3-1

Mats Zuccarello and Norway lost their third game of the tournament early this morning by a score of 3-1 to Austira.

Zuccarello played 22:28 and had four shots on goal in the first and one in the third. Zuccarello was also called for hooking in the second period.

His ice time broke down as 7:43 in the first period, 5:19 in the second and 9:26 in the third.

FINAL: Sweden beats Latvia

Sweden beat Latvia 5-3 in their third game of the Olympics.

Henrik Lundqvist stopped 20 of 23 shots to pick up his third win of the tournament.

Carl Hagelin played 3:46 and according to the IIHF he didn’t play in the second or third period.

Sweden’s goals were scored by Patrik Berglund, Erik Karlsson, Daniel Alfredsson, Jimme Ericsson

FINAL: Canada beats Austria 6-0

Rick NashRick Nash and Canada beat Austria 6-0 to go to 2-0 in the Olympics.

Goal scorers for Canada were Jeff Carter (3), Drew Doughty, Shea Weber and Ryan Getzlaf.

Rick Nash played 10:26 and had 3 shots on goal. He played 3:20 in the first, 4:21 in the second and 2:45 in the third.

Canada next plays Finland on Sunday.
